What is Worship Like?

What is Worship Like?

Here at Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church we have a traditional form and order of worship every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

Worship in the Sanctuary includes:

The Gathering:  The Ringing of the Bell, Words of Welcome, and Gathering Music

The Preparing:  Prelude, Call to Worship, Congregational Hymn, Call to Confession and Prayer, Silent Prayer, Assurance of Pardon, Sung Response to the Good News of Forgiveness, and Passing of the Peace

The Hearing:  Time for Young Disciples, Choir Anthem, Scripture Reading, Sermon, and Congregational Hymn

The Responding:  An Affirmation of Faith, Time for Giving Thanks, Announcements, Requests for Prayers and Praises, Call to and Receiving of the Offering, Offertory Music, Sung Doxology for Our Blessings, and Prayer of Dedication

The Sending:  Final Hymn, Charge and Benediction, Sung Choral Response, Final Moment of Reflection, The Ringing of the Bell, and Postlude

Our Choir sings a wide range of sacred music by current arrangers and composers.  If you are moved by the harmonies of a choir, or if your soul sings along with a 66-rank pipe organ, you will find inspiration here!

On the first Sunday of every month, Communion is served.  “The invitation to the Lord’s Supper is extended to all who acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior, remembering that access to the table is not a right conferred upon the worthy, but a grace extended to all.”  Click to hear the communion liturgy from World Communion Sunday in October.
