    • Creative God, we give you thanks for this day, we praise you for the freedom we enjoy to worship you.  With joyful hearts, we turn to you.  This morning we formally dedicate an instrument of your universal Song, played for months in this sanctuary already, but recognized today as an instrument of your peace and your promise.  Accept our dedication of this piano and its music.  May each note be a prayer vibrating with life and love every time we worship and praise your Holy name.  Amen.
  • Litany of Dedication (Rev. Joel Weible, Lynn Wilkinson, and congregation)
    • Pastor Joel:    All the hands that play the keys of this piano on this day do so not only to the Glory of God, but in memory of our dear departed Charlene Staats.  The purchase of this incredible instrument would not have been possible without the generous financial contribution made by her husband, Ed, in honor of her, and others who contributed to its purchase.  Let us now dedicate this piano to God, in Charlene’s honor:
    • Leader:    Our praise joins with the heavenly choirs and the music of the universe.
    • People:   May this instrument encourage our praise and lift our singing on high as faithful prayers in times of joy and times of sorrow.
    • Leader:    We praise you, O God.
    • People:   And trusting in the Christ, we dedicate this piano …
    • ALL:      IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON, AND OF THE HOLY GHOST.  AMEN.
  • Hymn 264:  “When In Our Music God is Glorified” – ENGELBERG
  • Prayer – Rev. Joel Weible, Pastor
    • Eternal God, high and holy, no building, no single voice, nor any single instrument can contain the full measure of your glory or our adoration.  We pray with special attention now, however, asking that this piano may be used as an instrument of your peace and promise, reminding us with every note sounded of our beloved Charlene, and all the saints of this church and the church universal who forever sing of the glory of Love, itself.  Amen.

    • We believe that God of all the earth is at work beyond the churches as well as within them, working for justice so that all may have a say in what happens to them.
    • We long for the time when all who hunger and thirst for justice shall be satisfied and we believe that despite the persistence of evil, now is always the time when more good can be done and we can make a difference.  Amen.
